I have been searching on the Internet for a good site that you can have a website on for free. If you know of any good free website hosts please post them here.

A few more ideas:

1. Netfirms

2. Your own ISP possibly.

3. A long list

I've used Freehostia. They're Pretty good. No ads or anything, supports PHP, MySQL and a raft of other stuff. The only thing is the $9.95 fee to register or transfer a domain name.

I wouldn't recommend them for anything mission critical, though. Lately, it seems they've been having some issues with their servers. Sites become unavailable for brief periods and other problems have been reported.

Other than that, though, they're excellent. (and they've told us that they're working to fix the problems with their servers)

What about Google Pages?
Must be good and used frequently, I receive a lot of spam from it lately

Not sure about your countries hosts prices, but I changed to a paid host, as my website only costs me 35 Euros a year. I have even been told that this is a bit of an expensive host. I am happy with it, but should change to a cheaper one one of these days :trumpet: :flowers:

Typically, I've just mentioned this in another thread, but I have some sites on Heart Internet. They're UK Based.
They have a decent free package, if you own a domain (£2.99pa for *.uk except me.uk, which I think is £3.99pa)
Free transfers for .uk as well.

Their paid packages aren't bad either, and I've never experienced downtime for more than 1/2 hour, and even that was only once.

If you want good free hosting go to x10hosting or search www.free-webhosts.com

If you want to have a better looking url than www.hostingsite.com/yourdir or yourspace.hostingsite.com go to www.freedomain.co.nr or www.dot.tk for a free domain.

Hope that helps
