the updates manager seems to be functioning differently from what I expected and I am presented with a list of available updates for , I presume different versions of adobe which are 6.0.4/6.0.5/6.0.6; may I assume that these updates are NOT relevent for my version of adobe? |

Hi ruby1
Later versions of Windows are using Adobe Reader 8..... From this page it would appear that Version 6 is the one compatible with 98SE http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index....er+for+Win+98SE, therefore I would think that you could update to 6.06 quite safely in order to get the benefits that that update provides. I have long-term problems with this so a response from a win98se user who has adobe on board would be helpful
you have replied on my other thread see here; problems with foxit I have had intense problems with it so have reverted back to a program I have linked to as working with 98se |

If ver. 6.01 works, why screw with it?
Note: when updating 6.0.x it must be done incrementally, you don't go 6.0.1 directly to 6.0.6 http://help.wugnet.com/windows2/Adobe-Reader-Windows-98SE -------------------- Mark
why won't my laptop work? Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around Avatar by Handplane |

I use 98SE as my primary OS and use Acrobat 5.01.
It works perfectly. I have never had a problem opening any PDF file |

I have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 on my Win98SE OS and it works flawlessly.
Here is a link to that version, if you're interested in trying it. Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 [8.56 MB] http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=acrobat http://www.oldversion.com/download.php?idl...08240315239826f This post has been edited by etalmar: Feb 28 2008, 11:22 PM |
