What Can I Do With These .asf Files? Preferrably convert them to a standard format like .avi or .mpg

Hi, I have a digital video camera that records files in .asf format. Now what I'd like to do is put them in a format I can use, preferrably .avi or .mpg. I would even settle for .mov. And on a related note, is there a way for me to reformat my .mov files as .mpg or .avi.

And I'd also like to keep this as cheap (or free) as possible.

Thanks for any help!

I'm now using Windows Media Encoder for the .asf files. Still need a little guidance on recoding the .mov files though.

Take a look at Freeware Replacements For Common Commercial Apps. I use Super, it is listed under Audio Applications in Post #3.
I finally got it all together, now if I could just remember where I put it.
