Hi dan.grindall and Welcome to Bleeping Computer.

Please check out the New User Orientation section to help get familiarized with how the board works.

There is also a really good Tutorials section that has lots of useful information.

In the Tutorials you will find Introduction to RSS.

I have checked out Introduction to RSS - the issue isn't PEBKAC - the site pops 404 errors when I visit news topics in the RSS feeds.

Try disabling your software firewall to see if it is blocking this.

If so, I'm sure you can change the firewall settings.

but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

JohnWho - please navigate to "RSS" on the top right of the site and click on the "RSS" icon for: Bleeping Computer News, then navigate to one of the news topics.

404 errors are http errors. If you receive one, it's not your firewall blocking a TCP connection - it's a web server telling you the the resource requested cannot be found.

Ah, I see -

of the top 4 items:

Bleeping Computer's News
20 Latest Tutorials
20 Latest Forum Topics
20 Forum Posts

I can not get to "Bleeping Computer's News" and I get that "Internet Explorer can not display this feed" error, too.

The other 3 items work fine for me.

I would agree - something amiss with the "Bleeping Computer's News" RSS feed page.

Edit to add - the "RSS" feed button in IE7 also will not get "news", but does get the Tuturials.
