From the board "help":

Quote

Please note that there are four different types of subscriptions:

Immediate Email Notification
This option will send out a notification immediately after a new topic or reply has been made regardless of your activity.

Delayed Emailed Notification
This option will send out a notification if a new topic or reply has been made and you're not active on the board.

Daily Email Digest
This option will send out a daily digest showing all new replies or topics for that day.

Weekly Email Digest
This option will send out a weekly digest showing all new replies or topics for that week.

I would avoid using the delayed email notification. It's a bit buggy and we're seeing some problems with it.
The only easy day was yesterday.

Make sure you change your notification type of immediate. If you have it set to delayed there is a very good chance you will not get the message. I see that your subscriptions are a mix of delayed and immediate.

Let's see what happens now and go from there. If it continues, we can do some testing.

I have noticed that, when you start a new topic or subscribe to a thread or topic, having ticked to receive e mail notifications, the board default is for delayed notifications and the change has to be made in the control panel to up it to immediate

That is correct. For whatever reason, IPB designed it that way.
