Hi,
Is it possible to change the language of installation. I have vista in Spanish and wish to change it to English. It is just basically the vista system not the seperate programs. If not I have an English XP (prefer that anyway) could I just install that instead.

Thanks

Are you asking whether or not the installation can be performed in a language other than English?

Or, are you asking whether or not you can change the language in which the operating system is displayed after the operating system is installed?

In either case, the answer is yes. If you are referring to changing the language in which the installation program is displayed, the first screen of the installation gives the user the option of choosing a different language to use for the installation process.

If you are seeking to change the default operating system language after you have already installed Vista, just go to Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options. Once you are in the Regional and Language Options control panel, choose the "Keyboards and Languages" tab. Under the "Display Languages" subsection, click "Install/uninstall languages...".

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much to both of you.

I am actually trying to change from the original (Spanish to English) however I have Vista home and according to MS (the link you gave ) I can only add additional languages with Ultimate and Enterprise with the MUI install.

I have changed the locale which appears to have changed a few things. If i get into any problems then I will reformat and change the language set from there. Thank goodness for Open office which more or less replaces MS office and can be downloaded in English. Thanks very much , much appreciated

With Vista Home you may be able to purchase an additional MUI from Microsoft to change the language.
