alright so ps3 vs. xbox 360.......

lets start with the xbox 360. it currently has A LOT more games than any of the other systems and has practically the best online community. halo 3 just came out and it is one of the best FPS games that I have ever played and the story is great, basically as of right now there are only going to be around 10 games that are PS3 exclusive(MGS4, FF13, FF vs. 13, that Drake game, Lair, Heavenly Sword, GT:HD, and Killzone 2) everything else that you thought would be a ps3 exclusive such as GTAIV and Assassins creed are coming out on the 360...... the 360 I think has more exclusives that are bringing real hype such as gears of war and halo. but as for the 360 problems Microsoft started shipping out 360s (halo3edition) (http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/28/65nm-xbox-360s-starting-to-trickle-out/)that have the "falcon" 65nm chips in them so you will be seeing some improvements in hardware and with the 3 year warranty your pretty much set. but if you want to watch HD dvds your going to need to buy a player which costs $180. so if you buy any of the editions out now like the elite or halo 3 edition which cost $450 and $400 your going to need to buy the player if you want true hd. which makes the price of the 360 more than the ps3......and your 360 still doesn't have wi-fi or the expandable memory slots.........

Now for the ps3.......1st off I would like to say that I own a ps3 and i'm trying to be as unbiased as ever. the ps3 is a BEAST!!! the ps3 has a blu ray player, a better form of HDMI than the elites, and can be more customizable when it comes to interface. the blu ray and HD dvd war has come to an end with a draw and it doesnt really matter with a ps3 because you can just buy regular dvds (which i have been doing) and then just upconverting them.........you can save yourself like $15-20 each time you buy a dvd. you can load linux into it and it has wi-fi. I have seen the graphics of both players and I would say that they are about the same. the ps3 has less hardware problems (less than 1%) and has excellent durability. and you don't need to pay anything for playing games online like xbox live. don't get me wrong xbox live is reallly fun but i rather just save $50 each year and buy something. As for the games you just have to wait a little longer...FF13, FF vs. 13 and Gran Turismo: HD is coming out this December and MGS4 and Killzone 2 are coming out in March 2008, in the meantime you can play Call of Duty 4 or something.......

but its really all what you need the console for, if you like to play games online go for the 360. but the ps3 is slowly catching up.

Prices: Xbox 360

Premium w/ HD - $350
Elite - $450
Halo 3 Ed- $400

Wi-fi adapter - $30
HD Player - $180

Controller - $50
HDMI cable - $0 included with elite

PS3
40gb (coming out w/ spiderman 3) - $400-450 i think...... hehe
60gb - $499
80gb - $599

bluray - comes with it
wi-fi - comes with it

controller - $50 sixaxis with rumble coming out soon

hey wouldn't it be easier if all consoles were one? just a thought and then we won't have to decide which is better!
ahh is it lust or love? the question many have feared to answer for there is no telling :D
Last to post wins! i guess i'll never give up on that game until i win it!
maria over n out ><

lol, it'd be better if they didn't cost hundreds of dollars so there would be less of a mental block of "I just spent $XXX, I don't want to spend another $XXX for ____"

What if they just sold console software for a computer? I guess its kind of unnecessary (that's what pc games are for), but it would be sort of like an OS you could boot into, and it frees up system resources that windows and other programs that would usually be running take up. You could plug the controllers in usb (or use mouse and keyboard), use like flash drives, and other things to save games (or directly onto your hard drive). This software you'd think would be fairly cheap anyways since companies don't usually make any money when they sell consoles, it comes from games and accessories. I'd think it would be neat instead of all these stupid consoles coming out every few years and having to buy a new one. I don't mind having to upgrade or buy a new computer as much as a console.

While one could make the argument that 360's are known for the infamous rings of death, and that bundled all thogether that it costs as much as a PS3, to make this easier i'll list some ideas to consider, if they sound bias, I'm a 360 fanboy, but the ps3 has it's perks

Bigger Hard Drive (PS3 largest is 80gb)
Established online community (Sony is working on their's but it won't be until the next gen when their's takes off)
While the processing power is slightly lower the 360 is capable of better lighting while the PS3 is capable of better textures
PS3 has better backwards compatability but the 360's upgrades the graphics slightly on the 300 plus it does support
The video marketplace on xbox live is growing everyday, never worry about blockbuster or online video stores again, plus they are available in HD
Both have HDMI for true HD but the PS3 is going to have more 1080p games
The PS3 is harder to develop for thus a lot of developers have pulled ps3 games and switch to 360
Microsoft has a weakness for only putting out tons of shooters
Sony has a weakness for only putting out RPG/Action games
Gears of War and Halo 3 vs. Resistance Fall of Man...ummm

.....blah blah blah there is tons more

lol, I'm not going to engage in anything despite that's what some of your post felt. However, I will just say that you should give PS3 games a try. To say it has nothing has gotten rather pointless now a days, but was more acceptable around the time Resistance came out.

Try to find friends who own other systems. My room mates and I have the best of all three worlds with a PS3, 360, and Wii.

I am a 360 fanboy but that doesn't mean I don't like the other systems in fact I owned a Wii for a couple of months but sold it to a friend, my major problem with the Wii and the PS3 are lack of games right now but as soon as their games start I know they will roll in for both of those...but it really comes down to what your looking for out of each system...and my frined had all three and the only thing at that time really worth playing on the PS3 was Resistance, most of the ones coming out now that were supposed to be system sellers like Lair, Assassin's Creed, GTA 4, etc are either flopping or turning away from their once playstation exclusiveness, but then again Microsoft is doing a good job right now at that either losing Bungie...

XBOX 360 - Online gaming
PS3 - True HD gaming and Movies
Wii - Inovative play

ok... microsoft did a BIG no-no by not testing their 360s long enough... they put it on the market too soon... Sony waited and watched as the 360s became full of errors and people either had to send in their xboxes or buy new ones... myself had 2 xbox 360s that i had/have to sent/send in to get repaired... the elites are a little bit better than the standard 360s in the fact that they have better HDTV settings and more HDD space... the bad thing is that they dont have 6-axis controlers like the PS3... i am a fan-boy, i love the xbox, and microsoft and love what they have done and they are doing... but in all actuality Sony is the big winner here... especially with blu ray...!!!

XBOX 360 got better games PS3 is a better system.
But PS3 has the potential to be leagues above the 360.
If you like FPS's get 360 if your into franchises like Metal Gear, Unreal, Res Evil etc.. get the PS
