ok so i already have a 200gig hdd and im trying to decide on vista home premium or xp home no idea plus im getting a 19inch lcd for my birthday so ya u guys give me some input plce and if im missing anything plz tell me

Looks like it should float, but I would wait until Vista has been out for a year or they have applied their first service pack...which ever happens first.

XP Pro for the OS. Also you may want to think about adding a DVD-Rom Drive. and a PCI sound card (I hear the SB Xtreme Fatality is very good)

Looks like a nice build. If you were planning on overclocking you should get a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme or Tuniq Tower 120 instead of the Zalman. You won't need a 850W power supply unless your going SLI. Personally I would get Vista but a good case could be made for waiting for SP1. Thing is, you will probably end up upgrading to Vista at some point to get use of DX10 and so on, so getting XP is adding to the cost.

ok ill look into pci sound cards and in the future i do intend on running sli my i ask whats wronf with my zalman 9700 i thouhgt it was like top of line for them and whats wrong with the ram i listed also i cant order from newegg because they do not accpet over the phone orders my grandparents rules i caint use our credit card on the net so im goin with xpcgear
also the dvdrw drive i have plays dvdroms cdroms burns dvds and cds so im set there plus i also have a cdrom drive and a cdrw drive that was given to me also would it be better to get xp home SP2 or wait for the servic pack for vista also what i whould be better a 64bit OS or a 32 bit OS

NewEgg probably will be cheaper than XPCGear. I would recommend using a different payment option on NewEgg (credit cards aren't the only way) or persuading your grandparents that their credit cards are safe on NewEgg (which they are).

ive already tryed that plus they are paying for it not me its there money and i told them that i said its uour money not mine your paying for it so u do what u what i caint really argue with them after all i live wit them but how well do u think this system will run how long will it last and how future proof is it should a go with vista home premium or windows xp home 32 bit or 64 bit mite i also add weve been fruaded once we had to change all out bank accounts get new credit cards and everythjing and they think its form useing the card on the net butr like i said i caint argue with them

Overclocked, as Leurgy (another member) has taught me, futureproofing is non-existent. This system will be great for about 2 years, and then something newer will come along. Don't let that deter you, it's going to be a great system. As for the cathode kits and modding options, I'd lay off of that. I was pretty heavy on that, but after buying all the stuff I realized I only needed 1 or 2 of the things. For you, you should be very happy with some light-up case feet (what a pain, however) and some cathode lights inside. Hope you love the system.

well as for the cold cathode like i posted i wanna get 2 uv black light 12inch sticks to put one at the top and one at the bottom of the case and the vantec spectrum for additional cooling of my gpu my system if i get all the stuff should last me longer than 2 yearss my mobo supports the highest mhz of ddr2 ram and dual and quad core cpus with a fsb of 1333mhz plus i want my case to stand out the reason for the cold cathode and the gpu cooler card im also looking at 4ft of blue uv reactive 1/2 cable sleeves and a 18inch sata cable im into that lighting stuff makes the case really stand out but my only problem is il have to turn it off every nite so not to attract the night dwellers (thiefs) lol also my grampa said that he talked to a guy that works on pc for a livin and said that all the single parts are surplus and the outfit buying them has no idea if they work and you can spend 500 to 1000 bucks (im spending over 1600 bucks) and the system wont be worth more than 60 bucks but i mean if you build a pc i think it would be worth more than that cuz if you buy a prebuilt system with all the stuff im useing it would be selling for like 5000 dollers right?

One thing I would step back on is the keyboard and mouse... those two things are pretty expensive for the performance they give and are only worth it for hardcore gaming. I would recommend Logitech's Basic Wireless USB combo. It has made me extremely happy.
