Help
My laptop now won't charge properly.
I plug it in and it charges for maybe 30 seconds, perhaps raising 1% power, but then nothing. My battery symbol has a plug on it (indicating it is plugged in, plus the red "charging" light is on the case) but the bar isn't moving.
It's very annoying and I don't want to have to return it to the shop because it is so far away and my parents would go mad.
The only thing I can think of is maybe try charging it while turned off. What do you think?
p.s the charge doesn't go down when plugged in. Just remains at (well at the minute it's) 29%

just fyi, I've had it since March. What is the average life of a battery?
I have it on daily, and only charge it when it runs low, unplug it as soon as it's full again.
And I do the old "let the battery run dead once a month" for "health"
If I need a new battery, where would I find one? And for what price?

Update! haha
I unplugged the AC Adaptor for a minute, and when I plugged it back in, the charge jumped up 4% but isn't charging now.

Yes indeed, especially when I live in Ireland....

uhmm still not charging unless laptop is turned off. When turned on, doesn't charge, just remains at the charge before plugged in.
Annoying me now, t'is only a young laptop.

You can try a new power cable. Maybe the DC jack has lost contact with the motherboard inside the case. I've seen that happen a lot but not to new laptops.

Have a look at this site. It contains loads of troubleshooting suggestions for laptop battery problems. It's a Dell site but most of the suggestions given apply to any laptop.
In particular, go the to website of your laptop manufacturer and see if they have a battery recalibration utility that you can run.
