Hey,
The power supply on the comp i built decided to go on vacation. But I am not 100% sure it is the power supply, what other thing could be the problem.
I click the power button and nothing happens, no clicks no whirs, no nothin!
Pentium 4
ABIT motherboard KD7A
the power supply came with the tower and i cannot for the life of me locate that info.
I have plugged into different sockets throughout my home and it does nothing but sit there.
what do i need to do?

Hi grommie, and welcome to BleepingComputer.
If the fan inside the PSU isn't running when you turn it on then it probably is dead. If you have a voltmeter you could check the voltage at one of the molex connectors, there should be twelve volts on the yellow wire and five volts on the red wire.

Best way to test a power supply is to force it to turn on.. Unplug the PSU power cable then unplug the 20/24 pin main connector. Plug the PSU back into the wall, and ground the green wire to one of the black wires. It should turn on, if the fan doesn't turn on check the yellow wire it should read 12 volts DC you can use any black wire as a grounding point for your tester.

Thank you for the input and welcome,
I will try those and post here with the answer or another question when I try it. Don't lose any sleep over it however, as the work week drains me.
thanks
