When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Mhd.sys Infected Windows Explorer crash

Well, while another computer is still broken, the one I'm using to try and get the information to repair it has no become infected. Avast! continually tells me that my mhd.sys file is infected with a Trojan, but it cannot repair and moving it to the chest does nothing. Trying to open up any folder simply causes explorer.exe to crash and for the virus report to appear again. Deleting it does absolutely nothing either.

So, please. HALP.

Have you tried doing your anti-virus and spyware scans in Safe Mode?

I ran a boot-time scan for Avast! when the problem began to surface, and attempted to boot in safe mode a while after that but it hanged while doing so and I impatiently gave up on it since I was still waiting for instruction to fix my other computer.

I'll attempt scans in safe mode again once I finally have the other computer's repair complete.
