I am using Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1593.0 however each time I run a scan (quick or Full) it freezes at C:\WINDOWS\system32\update
Clicking on 'Stop Scan' does nothing and I have to fully close Defender.
Help please anybody
I'm not totally computer thick but not too technical either.

Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Also try doing your WD scan in "SAFE MODE"?

I also have the same problem, but I don't want to resort into going onto SafeMode.
