New To Linux (ubuntu7.04) I have a few questions, no problems though.

Yeah - I can't find anything that states that it scans in the background. Just scan your Linux box once a week or something. Considering you have firestarter up and running (which you do, right?), the odds of getting a Linux virus are miniscule.
