I would like to use the iswraid driver from sourcefourge.net in order to have raid capability using kernel 2.6.20 From that site, I'm told that the driver has to be applied to a source kernel and recompiled (target kernel) in order to install with ICH7 Raid support.

I'm wondering if someone can tell me what tools I'll need for this process. Also, how does one apply a driver to a kernel that one intends to re-compile?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated

They say that it will not work with the 2.6 kernel https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thr...forum_id=388487 And instead to try dmraid. http://www.linuxmanpages.com/man8/dmraid.8.php

I guess, I knew that part already. but do you know how to apply the driver to the kernel and recompile it?
