BleepingComputer.com: Newb Laptop Gamer

Hello All,
I'm not a Gamer per-se. I have wore out my Halo on my desktop, so I went + bought a Toshiba game capable Laptop, Vista, thinking I could play Halo 2 on it.
Yea, right.
My system has more than the min. req's. The game still won't install. Says my video card is out of date, which it isnt. I went to Nvideas web site to check for updates + none are available.
This whole game seems to be set up to be played on a Live platform. This isnt an option for me, since I only have dial up + I have no desire to play online games anyway.
Have I wasted my money, or am I simply missing something. (I don't have a xbox, or ps anything.) Is there a basic laptop game I should have bought?

What exactly happens when you try to install Halo 2? Are there any error messages?

Well it gets to the installation page + says my nvidia is out of date + it will not let me continue until I update my driver. (I've gone to nvideas web site + there are updates for everything except Vista.)

Are you sure? My friends graphics have been updated numerous times for vista. If you list your graphics card maybe someone could help you find the drivers.

Yes, I'm sure. I called MS's game support and was told nothing could be done until the driver gets updated.
I have a GEForce GO 7900GS graphics card.

Woah 7900GS. That is really nice, especially for a laptop. It must be a driver thing then, because that can handle most all games fine.
