I use D-Link DGL-4300 Wireless 108G Gaming Router with Vista and it works flawlessly. The real issue is going to be the wireless card in your computer. Netgear cards don't seem to work for me but D-Links does.

I've got several NetGear routers that work well with Vista (WGR54 something), along with a VPN model that just died on me. I've also got a Buffalo Tech router that I think is much easier to use than the Netgear (but the interface is a bit confusing).

Here's a link for certified routers for Vista: http://winqual.microsoft.com/HCL/ProductLi...d=712&f=86b

I originally had a Netgear card for my Vista PC. Although they had drivers, they just refused to work. Their routers are ok though, it took almost six years for me to wear one out.
