When I insert a disc into the D: drive, it wont read it. If I try to start it manually, it just says please insert a disc.
I just bought a brand new game and it wont work. The game is Battlefield 2142. Is it possible to download the game and enter my bought CD key?

Try some other disks and if none work it might be your drive. Does the drive show up in "my computer"?
I hope someone here can help you out we just need some more info.
Also make sure the reader is clean maybe try a lense cleaner cd.

CD-Roms don't seem to work. Audio CD's work though. I've tried other CD-Roms, and they don't work as well as the game I'm attempting to install. Also, when I insert the disc into the drive, for a little bit, it shows a little spinning CD by the mouse.

The audio CD's don't skip at all. Before I try cleaning it what else can I do?
Edit : CD's Will work. It just wont run DVD-ROMS. My DVD-Drive is supposed to run DVD's though..

I'm having the same problem... None of the disks work (DVDs, Audio CD's, etc). I've tried using a CD-Cleaner, but that didn't work either.
