Getting Url Of Flash Video

I like to embed videos on my blog. What I'd like to be able to do is take a embedded Flash video clip and embed it on my blog. I can do this with Windows Media or Real Player by getting the url and producing the html code. I can't seem to get the url of an flv file the way you can with the others. Does someone know a way to get the url of the Flash clip? Once I have the url of the clip, embedding is easy.

What videos do you want to embed?
What browser do you use?

Flash videos that do not come with embed code. Youtube etc. do come with embed code and it is easy to create code for Windows Media videos. I do it all the time. I want to do the same thing with Flash videos. And I an IE powered browser customized by my ISP.

Not too sure about IE.
Have you checked the page Source Code?
IE / View / Source

If you were using Firefox, I'd have another suggestion, that might be a little easier.

Can you not just right click it and go to properties where it shows the URL? That's how I've always done videos. BTW is there a way to save a URL movie from the internet using WMP 11?

That works for Windows Media but not for Flash. The source code never occurred to me. I will try that.

Edit:The source code doesn't seem to give the exact url and the code itself is probably too difficult to reproduce properly. I was hoping there was a free app somewhere that will get the url. I should point out that I'm trying to get this from a Japanese website.

The only thing I can think of, is to try Firefox.
It's a free download, and it's also a good idea to have a non-IE based browser on hand, in case IE starts to give you problems.
Multiple browsers can exist together, without any conflicts.

If you decide to try it with Ff, go to the page in question, click Tools / Page Info, and select the Media tab.
While looking under the Type column, scroll down looking for Embed.
One of those should be the URL, of your embedded video.

It doesn't seem to give the url of the clip, just the extension of the player. And that's not what I'm looking for. Here's the link to the page. Maybe you can figure out something I don't understand.

Sorry frankp316, but I couldn't find the URL anywhere.
I couldn't even download the the video using the UnPlug extension, which I've never had any problem doing, before.

The Orbit Video Downloader claims to be able to download embedded videos. Have you ever used this and does it actually work?

I've never tried Orbit Video Downloader, so I can't say whether it will work, or not.

I've always used the UnPlug extension with Firefox, to download embedded videos, and have never had any problems with it.
This is the first time it didn't work, for me.

I have added that extension to Firefox and not surprisingly, it appears to be limited to certain sites. Most folks are looking to download Youtube videos and other mainstream sites and that's not what I'm interested in. Try it yourself on the video embedded on the page for the following link. If you get it to work, let me know what you did. It didn't work for me.

Looks like you found a program to do it, M.... :thumbsup:

That first URL, is the one for the video.
The second one, is just the flash player.
