I have a Windows XP computer that has not had any sound for months. This doesn't bother me much but my kids would like it fixed. When I go to Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices Properties and select the "Volume" tab, it tells me I have "No Audio Device." If I select the "Audio" tab on this properties panel, the Sound Playback Default Device drop down lists only "Modem #0 Line Playback" as an option. Below that, there are no options at all under MIDI music playback default device.
Does this mean I have missing/corrupt software, or do I truly have a hardware problem? How do I figure this out??
Thanks for your help.
