Alright first a bit of a back story.

I received a refurbished laptop that I used for alot of school work, and it started to have issues with it's power supply. After a few technical analyses, the problem couldn't be solved, and eventually it got to the point where my laptop is now a big paperweight.

My biggest concern with it is the contents of my Hard Drive, is there any way I can connect this to my desktop computer so I can retrieve the files from it?

Thanks in advance,
Dave.

Depending on your hardware involved, you can most likely get a cable adapter that will successfully hook up your laptop hard drive to the desktop motherboard.

A colleague mentioned an external USB Chassis that could be used.
Is this possible?

Here is a practical, and cheap, solution. External 2.5" hard drive cases

I just read this post. Do you mean that you can take an old hard drive, put it in the case and use it as an external drive?

If you look at that site you will find adapters that will allow you to install it inside of the computer also.

Notebook Hard Drive to Desktop Adapter (2.5" to 3.5")
