When you plug it into a USB port what happens?

Have you tried plugging it in when the computer is off and booting the computer with it plugged into a usb port?

It should appear as a drive when you explore My Computer.
Say you have drives (A:),(C:),(D:),(E:),whatever.
If drive (E:) is the last one there before you plug it in,look for a drive (F:) after you plug it in.

Do you see an icon appear near the clock when you plug it into a USB port?

on my computer at home it took about 20 minutes before something near the clock showed up and all it did was say that an unundentified usb port was located but then the bubble dissapears before i can click it, on this computer nothing came up yet i had it plugged in an hour already, and it doesnt say anything in my computer it just has the drives but not the pny because i checked each one. ill try to reboot with it in but it should work without booting. okay i hope it helps!

I think your PNY flash drive may be defective.

A safely remove hardware icon should show up at the taskbar within seconds and you should be able to see the drive either in "My Computer" or in Windows Explorer as soon as it's plugged in.

It didn't come with any software, did it? Not that it should have.
