Yesterday, I upgraded Avira to the latest version, and when I restart I get "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.". I searched and it says it's a outlook and IE problem. So reset the IE and tried to remove outlook. Funny thing is I don't use IE only for windows update and never outlook. I even put my comp in safe mode and ran avira, malwarebyte, and windows malicious removal tool and it came up clean. Everything works its just when everything loads up I get this popup when I start my comp. I can live with it but just want to make sure it's not a major problem or to find out if there is a fix. Also I get this pop up every 2 hours no matter what I am doing.

512MB Dual-Channel DDR @ 199MHz (3-3-3-8)

That is the minimal amount of RAM for running XP, SP3 without any resource-heavy applications installed, IMO.

Peak memory for Avira, 450MB of RAM

Peak memory for cidaenib, exe (related to Indexing function), 435MB

   Peak memory for Firefox, 290MB

You have 2 free RAM modules on your motherboard, board specs .

I suggest taking a look at http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-ValueRAM-Modules-KVR400AK2-2GR/dp/B0002O77T6 .

Going from 1GB to 3GB would solve a lot of problems, IMO.

Try the Fixit at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q310049 for the error message you posted.

Since I am not to good with computers I have a couple of questions:

I used the the link above and downloaded the MS fixit link and applied it, though it did not work and still got the pop up noticed my avira and malwarebyte load up much faster. Since it's not affecting any programs and I get the pop up upon starting along with every 2 hours when my comp is on I feel as though not much of a problem. I will try the upgrade in memory suggestion until I decide to buy a new tower. I have new laptop runing 4gb of memory and I know how much of a difference when I use it,

Now the questions:

1. When I applied the fix, it left a .reg file what do I do with it? put it a folder or move it somewhere else ect.

2. Memory upgrade, since I have never messed with my computer internals I guess you remove the old one and plug in the new ones? Will it affect anything else or do I need to reinstall something or any programs?

Thanks for the help.

Re reg file...what do the MS Fixit instructions say?  I've not known the Fixit process to leave a reg file, but my experiences are not necessarily valid (nothing to fix).

A motherboard has a varying number of slots to place memory modules.  As noted, your board has 4 slots, you are only using 2.  I would simply place any additional modules in the empty slots.

"To fix this problem, click the Fix it button or link. Then click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in the Fix it wizard."

I clicked MS Fixit for XP and it downloaded MicrosoftFixit50388.msi. I ran it and it told me to restart my comp for it to take affect. Then I noticed next to .msi file there was the Fixit50388.reg file. I put in a folder with where I keep programs like the toolbox ect.
