Hi --

I assume that my PC has a virus.  The administrator account has been taken over, I cannot use task manager, and cannot interact with any programs -  The problem persists in safe mode.  The screen is completely filled with a non-closable white window with only the message "Please connect to the internet....".  I can only use the PC in safe mode with command prompt.

Where do I start?

Thank you for your help,

JB

Hi again.

Working with an idea from the folks at Tee Support I was able to get the desktop - and the START button - to work from the dos prompt in Safe Mode - Command Line. The trick was to run the program c:/windows/explorer.exe.  This started the desktop and asked if I wanted to proceed to work in safe mode or use System Restore.  The information from Tee Support shows how to hack the registry.  I chose to use System Restore to go back to a restore point before the virus was encountered.  this was successful. The link to he Tree Support page is: http://computervirusmanualremval.blogspot.com/2013/06/fbi-moneypac-white-unblock-screen-virus.html.

Thanks for being there.

JB
