When I try to update i-tunes I get this error message:

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed, this can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed.  Contact your support personnel for assistance."

I tried re-installing the computer software that came with the Dell computer, but I get the same message.

I am using Vista 6.0.

Thank you in advance for any help that you are able to provide.

Ken

Please download Farbar Service Scanner, save it to your desktop, and run it.

Type  msiserver   in search BOX and

Click on Export service
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Please copy and paste the log to your reply.[/list]

I followed your instructions and tried to update, but I received the same error message.  There was no "Windows Installer" only a "Windows Modual Installer" which resulted in the same error message.  Then I re-ran the Farbar and posted the results below.  Thank you...

Registry key failed to get added.

I launched the msiserver.reg,

Did you click YES to import? Did you get any errors?

When I right clicked I was given an option to "start" Windows Module Installer.  There was no "import" option.  I received no errors.

Thanks for hanging in there with me!

I don't understand what you mean by "renaming the file"...  The msiserver.reg that you provided me is something that I clicked on to run the program.  Could you please clarify? Many thanks.
