Yes..I did. Sorry.

My Windows7/XP desktop (6 mos old), connected fine to my wireless network for several weeks before I finally added WPA security to the net.
I also have 2 XP laptops on the network which are unaffected by this problem and the virtual machine XP side of the Win 7 desktop works on the internet just fine as well. I should clarify, the Win 7 shows that it IS connected to the network when the internet icon is clicked but the icon does not show green..but white on the screen. I can connect to goggle and search but after connecting to any site...it freezes and I have to use
Task Manager to get out of it. So I guess my question is what with regard to the security is keeping only Win 7 IE from operating normally...
I have a Linksys Wireless G Broadband router and am using WPA Personal security. Whatever the network adaptor is on the Win 7, I assume that it is functioning properly because the virtual machine connection is good. Troubleshooting the Win 7 connection finds a problem with the adaptor
needing to be "reset",...which it then completes. But as soon as you try to use it...the same issue arises. This "reset" doesn't last long enough to
accomplish anything and troubleshooting shows nothing but the need to reset it again?

Let's try uninstalling the "Google Update Helper" and both of the "Google Toolbar for Internet Explorers".

If you are unable to do so through control panel, let me know. Once you have uninstalled them, restart your system.

Neither Google Toolbar nor Google Update Helper appears in the Control Panel on the Win 7 side, so I'm not sure how to uninstall those. I could and did uninstall Google from the virtual XP though I did not see a toolbar helper listed there either.

I need to figure out how to transfer the Network Diagnostic Report to something I can send you.

Download Revo and install it.

Start it up, click on the "Uninstaller" icon, and see if they show up in there.

No....they don't show up in uninstaller.

Interesting. Do you have any Google programs showing up on the system?

Yes, very interestingly I have google browser on both systems showing up when you connect to the internet and though I thought that I had (I did) remove the google toolbar from the XP side,
it is actually still there above the browser but now that doesn't show up in the control panel either..

Tricky little bugger.

A couple things

Right click > disable the google toolbar

CTRL+Shift+Esc to open task manager

Click on the processes tab

End any "google" processes that you aren't using.

Wait about 30 seconds and see if any of them pop back up.

If they don't, exit task manager and try to open up IE.

OK..On Win 7 side,----I could find no "disable from rt clicking the google toolbar in any spot...I tryed it several times. I closed it and started Task Manager Processes AND I did finally find Google tool bar helper which I ended. It did not pop back up. I tryed to open IE and google opened. on the XP side....same thing except I did not find toolbar helper in the Task Manager processes. Thank again for not losing interest!
