Word 2010: Uncooperative Lists

Hello everyone!
As the title says, I'm working with Word 2010 and suddenly my multilevel lists won't work by using the tab key.
When I press the tab key, the cursor just moves in 1/2 inch. It doesn't make the line a sublevel.
However, when I use the Increase Indent button found on the Home Tab>Paragraph, the sublevels do work.

I have absolutely no idea why this is happening. I looked on Google and found an article that seemed promising, but its suggestions did not help.

Thus, any help is greatly appreciated!
