flashdrive virus cleaning

I have a windows XP desktop and I believe that when I was trying to get info from my flashdrive, my computer crashed. I have a friend who suggested that there is a virus on my flashdrive because I used it at the library. I am trying to find out how to scan and clean it without crashing my desktop again.

What antivirus program are you running? Most AV programs will allow you to do a custom scan and specify the drives or files to be scanned. The program we use Vipre, even allows you to right click on the file and scan it. This is especially helpful for files that have just been downloaded.
