Secunia PSI 3.0

I have tried 3 different times to download Secunia PSI 3.0. I get 2 different messages. One is in my task bar with a red icon stating I need to do a manual update. I am unsure how to do this.
Also when I double click on the Secunia icon, the program opens,but then seems to freeze,stating verifying internet connection. I even tried to download the 2.0 version, only to get the same results.

I have never had a problem with Secunia before+can't understand what the problem is.

I am running KIS 2011. Is there a setting in KIS I need to adjust? I don't get any warning messages from KIS when trying to use Secunia.

Thanks for the link. I am Not running Kaspersky Pure(that I know of).

I went to the Secunia forum, but no help there. I always count on BC to help me sort things out.

I'm open to more suggestions, please????

One is in my task bar with a red icon stating I need to do a manual update. << Just download the latest version (not the beta version) with the same results
The first load and use will take quite a while, and I even got a "Program is not responding" message, but I managed to get out of that one.
The Secunia task bar icon is Red to begin with as it updates itself, but should turn Green after the first time you use it, and no updates are required.
I have just "hovered" my mouse pointer over it now and I get "All programs are up to date" and the icon is still Green.

If you like:- Download Security Check from HERE, and Save it to your Desktop.
* Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
* Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
* A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

This can give a "basic" view of mainly Security, some Adobe and Java programs installed and if they are updated -

Hello,Known as Highlighting....

Start in the Top left corner of your Document. Put your cursor in front of the text you want to copy, press (hold down) the left mouse button and drag the mouse across all of the text you want copied.
Hold the mouse button down until all the text you want is highlighted.
As soon as you let go of the mouse button, the highlighted text is chosen.

Now position your cursor in the highlighted text field (usually blue now).
Right click and select Copy from the pop up menu.

Now open the Reply to this post.
Right click in the text field where you would normally be typing.
Select Paste from the pop up menu.

Click the Post button to add the Reply.

As you can see by my post above yours, I think I copied+pasted the report correctly. This forum used to have a different upload button to do such things,sorry.

One other thing I am interested in knowing is.... how do I determine what the Secunia Beta version is so I stay away from trying to download that one.

The beta download is listed as "beta" and you can just do as you have with PS3. That is the latest secure version.

Your "Security Check" report shows that all items in security seem up to date - :)
Still having a problem with Secunia or has it now settled down ??

I'm going to try it one more time to see if it will work as it used to. You mentioned it takes a while to set itself? I'll let it run for 1/2 hour to see what happens.

Okay, so it's been an hour now+the icon in my task bar is red. When I hover my mouse over it the message is: You have a program that requires a manual update. Of course it doesn't tell me which program that is. The main Secunia screen never did seem to make a connection, so I do not know what items it was checking. Before, Secunia was very fast+would advise what was patched+what needed to be updated.

I'm very confused, to say the least. If Secunia will no longer work on my system, Is there another program that will carry/execute the same functions?

Calling it quits for tonight. Will check back here tomorrow morning for suggestions.

Download and install from the link above -

Delete Secunia if it is not working, often it checks itself first, and if you loaded Version 2, that would be the program is outdated.
Check Control Panel >> Programs and Features and see what version is installed (2 or 3) and just delete all versions from there -

I personally can't stand the newer versions and have gone back to version 1.5.0.2. Take a look at this prior thread related to version 3.0
