Apple Bans Googles Phones & iOS should have a AV?

Hello.
I want to talk about the headlines .. Apple have banned the sales of Samsungs Nexus made by Google using the OPEN SOURCED OS.. a Linux Based form.. named "ANDROID" what is angering me is that Apple has said in the UK courts that the Android is Infringing on there Copyright.. how is it? The slide to unlock feature in the iOS to the Android is completely different and guess what Apple has profited from this .. Check on the Stocks on your iOS tablet/Phone .. so yeah.. anyways the other thing what kinda angers me that why doesn't the iOS have a AV? there's all sorts of Bad things out there to get you.. not talking about Viruses.. talking about scams and Phising.. there should be some protection from that..

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the world of patent litigation. Remember that though it may not always make sense and may not be fair to the consumers, companies are constantly out to sue each other for improper user of patented technology. It is a huge money maker for the patent holders and also allows them to squeeze their competition. In fact there are companies whose entire concept is to patent as many things as they can in order to make money off the licensing.

As for the SPAM features, my guess is that will be coming sooner or later.

Avast doesn't have AV for iOS, but I believe Sophos and Eset do.
Unlikely that Apple would put one in. Would contradict their belief in how safe it is.
