System:
Asus P7P55D-E LX
Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB 1600 mhz
Intel I-5 2.8 LGA1156
XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Ever since I put this system together, the Video card has been causing occasional blue screens. Updated drivers, software etc..... tired of dealing with it and last week, lost the sound through the HDMI.

I want to get another card and would like some input. I do not game on this system, but do watch movies, listen to music and surf the web. I have a Samsung monitor hooked up via VGA port that I use as the primary display and have the TV hooked up through the HDMI for watching movies and such.

Thanks

If your not gaming, then this is simple and cheap graphics card that you can get that will suit your needs and it is super quiet because it is passively cooled.

Will that allow me to run the TV and monitor at the same time? (dual head)

Yes, so i would assume the TV would be plugged in using HDMI and your monitor would be using VGA or DVI.

Also, noise isn't an issue, I am hard of hearing and don't hear the 8 fans currently cooling my system.... I'd prefer one that can run cool.... and have a budget of around $150

Looks good, guess my PCI-E 2.0 will bottleneck this card...... I wasn't aware these cards are backwards compatible. this is why I ask advice here..... I was looking strictly at 2.0 and GDDR3 cards........

There will be basically no noticeable performance gain if you have PCI-E 2.0 slot and the video ram has nothing to do with the ram in your system.

I got an EVGA GeForce GT 545 card today, wated to stay away from the ATI since I wasn't sure if it were the software or the hardware that was giving me trouble. It's installed now an actually looks better than the XFX 5770
