Buried somewhere in my machine is an "oops" that is new to me. I don't go into the organize favorites of IE very often so I don't know how long the issue has been around. Anyway, whenever I click on organize favorites I get an error 100, invalid class string. I have searching forums and help sites and nothing I have tried has made a difference. This is Win7 and true to the registry the user shell folder is %userprofile%\Favorites. I've tried just restoring the folder, exporting and importing the folder, and everything else I could think of. My last effort was to delete the folder, recreate it, and then add some favorites into it. Once I had a handful of favorites I clicked on organize favorites and it was error 100.
As near as I can figure, there is something more that the appropriate file path in the registry and having that same path on the machine. This is a new trail for me and everything I have read and/or tried has been an experiment with no prior knowledge of what might happen. Anyway have an auggestions?
