I have found it a nuisance keep having to bring up the Windows Security Centre (for which I have a Desktop icon) every time I wish to check or select the Windows Firewall enable/disable which for personal reasons involving FW control, I do often.
Now, we can create a Desktop icon for enable and disable - one click and it is done.
Go to this link and follow the sequence. It is very easy, just a few minutes. I have done it and my two new icons work great :-

PS - The procedure is for Windows 7, but I use Windows XP Home and it all worked out fine.
