0xc0000034 errors

Hello,

Using Windows XP i386 SP3

I am getting a 0xc000034 error with the following applications after repairing corruption on my disk:

Firefox
Acroreader
Acronis True Image
iTunes
Intuit update

There may be others that don't work, but I haven't tried everything. At any rate, the problem is clear and consistent.

I have tried re-installing these, then un-installing them and re-installing to no avail. Chkdsk reveals no errors. A scan with MSE, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware finds nothing.

Seems like registry corruption and/or certain libraries may have been munged.

Also, latest update to .net from Windows update won't install. All other updates are installed.

Is there any scan I can do to put up here so someone might diagnose and solve this?

Make sure all the settings are the same in the screen shots That I have uploaded for you. Make sure and back up your registry also create a restore point.This is standard for any registry adjustments.


The Screen Shot below are the settings under Custom Mode




Make sure when you run this tool that it is the only thing that you run close everything including your browser for best chance of this program doing its job.

Can you please tell us how you "repaired the corruption" - Reinstall / Registry programs / Removing items from registry ??

Every extra bit of information would be very helpfull -

What is the KB ------ or the .NET item that will not install E.G. .NET 3.5 / .NET 4 / etc. -

Corruption was caused by a hard disk in a RAID 5 array that developed bad sectors. I wiped that disk and it then tested good. Rebuilt the array and ran chkdsk.

Please go to Programs and at the top of the programs "tree" there should be Windows Update -
On the left side is "Review Your update History" > Click on this and Copy / Paste the top 6 or 8 items there This is Mine -
The Green ticks show they were installed -

Hi -
I assume that the top few have a RED X beside them, showing they were not accepted ??
Do the rest have a GREEN Tick showing they aer installed ??

Just 1, 2 & 5 have red X. (the attempts to install the KB2656369 update)

There are quite a few people asking why this has not installed (on M/soft sites also)
Go to Control Panel > Add / Remove, and make sure the box at Top Right is ticked (Show updates)

Doesn't show that KB2656369 is installed.

As I have listed above, there is a lot of chatter on this article around the web

Personally only, I would not worry as M/soft are getting hit a bit hard over it. Chances are it will be released in another form (next month) -

You are not missing a lot by not having this installed, from what I read, so set updates to Notify You and let you install when ready (My way of lnstalling) -

It doesn't concern me much either.

The 0xc000034 errors are the real problem. From what I've looked up over these kind of errors, there often seems to no solution than a reinstall of the OS.

Oh, the joy...

Most apps still work, or those that do have alternatives, so I'll continue to to try to find a solution that doesn't involve that for a while.
