I keep getting popup ads on my computer. They say I "won" something and want me to take a survey or buy something. Even when I close the box, sometimes I still hear the voice of the ad. There are also lots of words that are double underlined on every webpage and if I click on them they take me to an ad. I don't know if this is adware, malware, viruses or what. I do use Verizon Security Suite and have tried Spy Bot to get rid of the ads. No luck. I don't know if this is related but I tried to paste a screen shot into Paint and it says there isn't enough memory. I have lots of memory free on my computer. Please help.

You're not running any AV program.
Install ONE of these:
- Avast! free antivirus: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
- free Microsoft Security Essentials: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/products/security-essentials
- free Comodo Antivirus: http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/antivirus.php
Update, run full scan, report on any findings.

Your logs indicate that Windows firewall is turned off.
Please turn it ON.
A firewall is your number 1 security protection.

I don't know why it says that as I use McAfee provided by Verizon and it says it's on and my computer is protected. And it says the firewall is turned on. Won't there be a conflict if I use one of those you mentioned?

I removed the anti-virus program I had and installed Security Essentials and then ran a full scan.
Seven files were found and removed:
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0094.BC
Exploit: Java/CVE-2010-0094.BR
Exploit: Java/CVE-2008-5353.XL
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0094.CU
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0094.CH
Exploit:Java/CVE-2011-3544gen!A
Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0840

The problem still exists, though.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.
