Computer randomly freezes

Greetings everyone. Here is the problem. It doesn't matter which browser I'm on, or just going through files with the internet disconnects. Freezes up and I have to cut power to restart. Boot ups get slower. A trojen showed up on a Norten scan and says the problem is resolved. Sometimes it will run for hours before it freezes and sometimes happens within an hour. I have ran Maleware- Bytes, Ccleaner, Spybot and says no infections.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, Service pack 1, self built.
Desktop
2.4 gig AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core
4 gigs of RAM
WDC WD3200A AKS-00UU3A Hard drive 320 gig
Norton AntiVirus Version 4.4.0.12

This may sound a bit off to you, but this has solved the same situation on other computers -
Check your Audio Drivers in Device Manager. If you have more than one, disable one at a time and check the reaction.

Try this as a quick fix, and see if it helps your Critical error, Kernal Power, Event ID 41 problem-

I disabled all my sound in device manager and tried opening Madden football and same problem. It happens every time with Madden football. The other time it happens randomly on the internet and disconnected from the internet. I', ran memory tests, chkdsk and no problems.When it freezes I have to kill the power to start up again.

You may want to check your PC for a rootkit. Sometimes anti-virus programs miss them. I'd try running TDSSKiller and see what it comes up with.

I check for network driver updates and found none but found this:

I left the computer on all day while I was out helping some one move and it hasn't froze yet. I'll try Madden Football. It always freezes on that game.

What power supply do you have installed?

I'm half-surprised the computer turns on at all. I'm assuming you're using the proper adapters to get the PSU to power your parts.

I did a cursory search for the power efficiency curve of that PSU and couldn't find anything. The Hipros on 80plus.org show that the lower wattage PSUs have better efficiency ratings. However, they were produced relatively recently. Your's is quite old.

Even if it could keep up at 250W, your system is pushing it. Your GPU and CPU by themselves use 135W and generally you don't want to push a newer PSU beyond 60-70% on a regular basis (your's I wouldn't push beyond 50%). I suggest replacing it with a more powerful and higher quality PSU and see if your problems change in any way.

I don't know why I didn't think of that. Brain froze with my computer. I have been running off this power supply for over 2 years and it ran fine until about a month ago. I searched through my power supplies thinking no way would I have one, but I was wrong. I found one that I don't need adapters and its 385 Watts. I installed it and right away my mouse seems more responsive. Hopefully it holds up. At least until I can afford a better PSU. Thank you very much. You guys came through again.

Well, it wasn't the power supply but I changed the video card and no more freeze ups (so far). I think its caused by an update that I installed for the video card. Problem is , it won't let me uninstall the update. Maybe if I can find the folder and delete it? I'd like to keep that card because it has 3d on it.
