Please explain your problem in more detail. EXACTLY what is happening and what led up to it? Also, please use normal size type. Thank you.

Not a helper here, just a member. For what its worth:
My sons computer got a system check type infection a month or so ago. He had ESET on the computer which stopped some , not all of the infection getting in.
He did lose all his Icons. When pressing the Start button it was empty but by right clicking into properties I could reach a function to unhide alot of items. I was able to access programs then through accessories / windows explorer.
Best to wait for a real helper before getting in much deeper though.
Good Luck!
