Silverlight will not install

At first silverlight just wouldn't run, and kept crashing firefox. So I uninstalled it and now I can't reinstall it. When i click "install now" I get "Message ID: 1622
The installation log file could not be written. Verify that the Temp folder exists and that you can write to it."

How do i get this to install correctly?

That's because when you attempt to uninstall Silverlight it leaves traces behind and then you can't reinstall it. Some users have had success using Revo Uninstaller which is a good product to have anyway. It will get rid of those traces and then you can reinstall Silverlight.
