Hi All,

Is anyone aware of a website that offers some sort of a revolving computer threat map... say, month of March there were reported X amount of viruses, April was Y... something like a bar chart or graph? I know the numbers may differ between web sites but I'm looking for something general. I've noticed a decline in computers that seems to be getting infected (unless we're doing our job!).

Thank you.
Jaison

Not quite sure if this is what you're looking for, but you may be able to get the info you want from it. I'm currently browsing on my phone so I haven't checked it out that much...

If I have been helping you and I do not reply within 48hours, feel free to send me a PM.

Your comment prompted memory of an org a few years ago that displayed global threat levels graphically. The link is long lost so went a looking and here's what was found using 'current global threat level' & 'current global computer threat level' as the search criteria.

Internet Storm Center: http://isc.sans.edu/reports.html These are serious folk manning the portals 24/7. Good source of info on whats happening now.

McAfee's offering: http://www.mcafee.com/us/mcafee-labs/threat-intelligence.aspx
Pretty map w/hover data. Historical Data' is worth a glance and the recent malware list shows what you need to load up for. A searchable kb and related news from Computer World, Infoworld, SANS Internet Strom Center and US-CERT

Panda: http://www.cloudantivirus.com/en/threat-information/ Collective Intelligence Monitor is a finger on the pulse occurrence info and depth of malware infections.

Panda's Collective Intelligence servers have analyzed 164.930.434 viruses and known goodware. Panda Cloud Antivirus connects to Collective Intelligence in real time. On this page you can see the new viruses that are being analyzed in real-time by Collective Intelligence as well as the viruses that Panda Cloud Antivirus is most frequently detecting on users' computers.

Panda: http://www.pandasecurity.com/img/enc/infection.htm Panda Security's Infection Map

In this Worlwide Map you can check the Infection data of any country from which Panda Security obtains data. By default, below the map appears the statistics data of the country you're in, but you can check the data of any other country by clicking on the "see statistics" link that appears after clicking on the ballon.

IBM: https://webapp.iss.net/gtoc/index.html While reading the scant info provided, a tumbelweed blew across the site, is swear, really a tumbleweed. Sad, just sad. Then I clicked on the IBM Internet Securtity Systems logo and more info showed, clicked on 'learn more' and the loop began anew. The Big Red EMERGENCY button got me to http://www-01.ibm.com/software/tivoli/solutions/threat-mitigation/ where 'X-Force' Threat Reports can be downloaded, after registering.

The Trend and Risk Report is published twice yearly. This report provides statistical information about all aspects of treats that affect Internet security, including software vulnerabilities and public exploitation, malware, spam, phishing, web-based threats, and general cyber criminal activity.

The Threat Insight Report is published four times a year. This report is designed to highlight some of the most significant threats and challenges security professionals face every day

Note: The registration may have a glitch in the 'State' field. Had to select another country then reselect the United States to gain access to the State field.

Symantec: http://us.norton.com/security_response/threatexplorer/index.jsp provides Overview, Threats, Risks, Vulnerabilities, A-Z threats and Risks tabs and the ability to search through the kb. Some nice sort options under Overview and Risks.

Global: http://www.redstate.com/minncon/2010/10/08/report-global-threat-level-changes-worldwide/

CERTStation Threat Level Aggregator: <---- This may be what you're looking for, tried to acquire it and they sorta insisted on being given $, annually. Here's the pitch hi-lighting 'community free services'. (wallet voted to keep the cash)

Community Free Service

CERTStation has over the last 8 years offered the security community free services to advance the goal of enabling a more secure and robust technology infrastructure. In continuation of that effort some of our services are offered as a Community Free Service. Only requirement is for users to identify themselves to us. Additionally users are under no obligation to pay for any of our community free services. Though we recommend that an annual donation of only $10 will serve the overall effort, enabling CERTStation to continuously enhance the Free Community Service platform. We also hope that you will become part of the community free service and provide us with up to date threat intel. Additionally a link to our site would also serve the purpose of driving more volume to our Free Community Service thereby building a self-sustaining Community Network.

ACES ThreatCon: http://www.acesnw.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=55 Click on 'Global Computer Threat Level in the right hand menu to bring up Symantec' information. Nice look, but.

ACES may be adding a 'Support Severity Levels' soon.

US-CERT: http://www.internetalerts.info/

The US-CERT Cyber Security Bulletin provides a summary of new vulnerabilities that have been recorded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Vulnerability Database (NVD) in the past week. The NVD is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Cyber Security Division (NCSD) / United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT). For modified or updated entries, please visit the NVD, which contains historical vulnerability information.

NIST provides access to the National Vulnerability Database

Internet Alerts: http://www.internetalerts.info/ is an interesting site simply due to the scope covered under 'Current Advisories, Alerts and Warnings', however, be advised not all links are up to date. The value seen here is in the quick access to the lists in the left margin.

Summary: Found enough good sources of current cyber threats populate a bookmark tab. Nice to be able to pull them up when needed or to do a quick review of what's happening in the wilds. This was put together in a short period of time and other sources are known to be available, just not within the search parameters employed.

Along the way stumbled across a couple of good reads.

Thank you JEBwebs for that excellent post. I have added a link to that post in a list of formerly pinned topics in our 'AntiVirus, Firewall and Privacy Products and Protection Methods' forums. You can find it there by going to this topic: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic124164.html
