Playin MPEG files on Win 2k need help!

I have Windows 2000 Professional. I made a 2 minute video on my Laptop running Windows 7. I converted it to MPEG-1 and MPEG 2 and it will not play on my Windows 2k. Says it is missing codecs. I have put the system online, it attempts to download codecs but fails. For this video it MUST play on Windows Media Player, and it MUST be in MPEG format. Any one have any advice for me??

Give VLC a try and see if it works.

VLC is a player to my knowledge... the video MUST play in Windows Media Player only. This is for a flight simulator ride, the operational software will only recognize windows media player.
