I had a couple of strange things happening on my XPpro/sp3 installation. If I use FF 3.6.3 to search Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. for something, the results look good and the status bar looks good when I hover over the link, but when I click on the search result link, I get taken to a random marketing, affiliate, or porn site. I notice one or more redirect pages in history that have taken me there.
Everything is fine when I use IE. The problem appears from either the FF search bar or the Google/Yahoo/etc main pages. Hovering the mouse over the search result links appears to be pointing to the proper URL, but if I click it, there are a lot of rapid changes in the status bar info, and I end up at somewhere totally different. I have scanned with Malwarebytes, AdAware, SuperAntiSpyware and Spybot several times but the bug lives on. How can hyperlinks be intercepted like this and how can I fix it?
