Songs not appearing on Ipod

When i drag songs to Ipod, it enters...But after i disconnected Ipod from my pc , the newly dragged songs are not there. But when i connect the Ipod to pc, Itunes shows the newly added song in Ipod. For the past 1 month,it is behaving like that. This should be a small setting to change i think, I dont know ? happened. Iam using Apple Ipod 5th generation (30gb).
