This morning when I turned on my computer I received a "Disk Boot Failure" message. After I checked and reseated the cables in the computer I ran a diagnostic scan on it. Everything passed except for the "Boot Path" test which gave me this message
Error Code: BIOHD-2
Warning: No drives detected
Suggestions: Check cables, call hp.
I restarted the test a few times but still couldn't get the computer to boot so I ran a system restore. (No real reason... just wanted to try everything before I called HP)
Strangely this fixed it. The computer booted up no problem.
What I would like to know is what happened exactly? The computer seems to be working fine now, but I'm still worried that this will only be a brief workaround and the hard drive is about to fail. I'm too nervous to even shut it down until I back up all the data on the drive.
