Hi everyone,

Really quick query - Is it ok to run ComboFix in Safe Mode or is it an absolute non-runner?

Thanks,

M@c

No generally you would not run ComboFix in safe mode. Please refer to our pinned topic ComboFix usage, Questions, Help? - Look here

That's correct. Generally we ask that Combofix be run in normal mode.

Why" Combofix is optimized to run from normal mode where it is most effective. However, it should run in safe mode if you are having trouble getting it to run or loading Windows in normal mode.

With that said, please read the topic Pandy referred you to as you should not be using this tool without guidance and supervision.

Thanks guys.

I was always of the opinion that ComboFix would generally be run in normal mode and safe mode in exceptional circumstances where it is not possible to either run it normally or get a normal mode boot. I have never seen or read anything to the contrary and I really just wanted to verify this.

I'm not anxious to even bring the matter up in a public forum for obvious reasons, which is why I kept my query brief and to the point.

Once again, thanks a mil. Your responses are very much appreciated.
