lifeview FlyTV prime 30 Card and software

Hi guys,
My daughter has finished the last year in high school with flying colors and I promised her a TV in her room. As it is rather Small I thought a TV card in her computer would do the trick. However, I can't seem to be able to get the card to work.
The computer is a PC with a 2.4 celeron processor, 512 MB (for some reason showing only 480MB), running a SP2 windows XP professional.
The card is Lifeview FlyTV prime 30 TV card.
I have installed the card, and the drivers and software which came with it, gave it the correct info regarding broadcast system (pal_ and tried to run auto search, but it wouldn't sinc on any station either cables or air.
I went to Animation technology Inc. site (http://www.lifeview.com.tw/html/downloads/internal_tv/flytv_prime_3x_series.htm) and downloaded the latest drivers and software and a hotfix for win XP with step by step instructions for removal of previous installation, and then reinstalled the downloaded stuff. It still doesn't work. With the previous version of software I could get some audio but not video. Now i get nothing!
Has anyone encountered this problem and can anyone help me getting it right?
I am embarrassed, up until today I have never had such a failure in installing any kind of hardware. Is it me?

tv tuners cards i found sometimes (except ati) are a pain. do you get any flags in your device manager? the ram difference btw 512-480, is your on-board video card taking 32m of memory for itself, dedicating it to on board video. your sound card should be connected with an "audio cable" inside your computer, either from motherboard(onboard sound) or from pci sound, to the tv tuner card. do you have cable tv? or are you trying to use an antenna for air?

The connections of the TV card (sound) to the sound card are OK, and for a while as I wrote, I could hear something from a station or two. I see no flags in my device menager. everything seems to be working OK, but I still can't get the Card to work. I now recall your answer regarding the missing RAM, I knew it but forgot. Thanks.
