I have a similar problem as marcscott
Since this afternoon I cannot access search engines google.com yahoo.com or bing.com
Network is up and running I can send and receive emails I can browse the internet as long as it is not a search engine
I checked on downforeveryoneorjustme.com and google and yahoo are still running!
I suspected this might be a virus
I have run Mcaffee, Malwarebytes, Windows defender, corrected a few problems
Still I cannot search on the net
Windows XP, Firefox 3.5.3, and IE 8
