Does anyone use Knoppix?

Download the ISO image burn it up to a CD and have a bootable version of Linux anywhere you go...I happen to like it, although new to Linux just the fact that take it around is good :thumbsup:

I use it a lot for recovering files from hacked machines. Another incredible toold is bartpe which I am going to do a tutorial on in the near future

I used Knoppix for a while when my comp crapped out on me. I used it to save all the important files i needed before reformatting the HD and re-installing XP.

I would love to go full *nix, but my mom don't like the layout/functionality. Plus, she's a teacher, so a lot of the programs/documents she needs are in windoze formats. :thumbsup:

I'm just glad i had Knoppix on a disc before my comp crashed. My friend told me to download it just a few days earlier.

Another great "run from CD" distro i personally use is P.H.L.A.K.
Most of you will prefer to use Knoppix,but phlak has lots of tools i use on a regular basis.

Mandrake Move 2.0
LUA + (SRP or AppLocker) + ACL + DEP* = Prevention

i would stick with knoppix for awhile since it is a live cd it wont touch ur hard drives,so it is a great n easy learning n rescue system.there is alot of help info for it.
