Missing Remote Tab In System Properties

My friend's, XP Home system is missing the "Remote" tab in the Control Panel > System dialog Box. Anyone heard of this?

I've got that problem atm. Sadly I think I induced this problem and now nothing will fix it but for your problem I'm sure the Instructions Here will solve it.

Remote Desktop Connection is NOT available in Windows XP Home.

It is available on my XP SP2 Home (XP3 now but still available). Tomo2's suggestion fixed it on my friend's computer. Thanks Tomo. sorry i didn't post thanks sooner.

I think there is some confusion here :thumbsup:.

In XP Home...as stated, Remote Desktop is not applicable, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...RDCLIENTDL.mspx That feature is available only in XP Pro.

What is available in XP Home..is the option to send invitations for Remote Assistance, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/rdfaq.mspx

The original question concerned the Remote Assistance function, not Remote Desktop.

Oh. Okay, I guess my friend must've figured out whatever his problem was, I haven't seen him since last winter. He told me it was fixed after I sent him the link to this thread. Thanks.
