I got hit with Spycrush. I found the uninstall under Spycrush in the Start Menu and removed it. I went into Windows Explorer and deleted the Spycrush folder in Program Files. I updated SpyBot S&D, my Mcafee antivirus and downloaded SUPERAntiSpyware & ran all 3 in safe mode. They removed a bunch of stuff. Upon rebooting I still have the spycrush icon flashing in the System Tray. Going back to the Start Menu & Program Files I see no trace of a folder for Spycrush.
After reading the Spycrush removal section I now believe the problem is the Registry entries left by Spycrush. Of course, I don't have a clean backup of my registry. Is it okay to run the SmitFraud Fix in Windows Me? I thought it was only good in XP & Vista. Do I need to modify the Registry to fix this? Should I remove thethe list of Spycrush files & Unregister that list of .dlls? Or am I just screwed? I don't want to reinstall Windows.
Thank you,
raiderjuan.

I left out that when I first saw the Spycrush I turned off System restore. But that was AFTER a reboot from downloading a Mcafee update. (Saw Spycrush. Updated Mcafee & rebooted THEN said "oops" and remembered to turn off System Restore).

The safest thing would be to wait a day or two for Super Antispyware to probably update to the variant of Spycrush you
have or to post a Hijack This log in the Hijack This Forum. NOT in this forum. The instructions for posting are in the link below.

Well, I didn't have to wait a day or two. Right after reading the last post advising to wait for the folks @ SUPERAntiSpyware I updated and ran it in safe mode. It solved the problem!!! The little red/blue System Tray icon is gone. Thanks for the advice and pointing me to this service. Now it's time to got to their site and thank them with cash.
