We are having a strange problem with a mouse.

Every minute or so(it is not on a regular time seqence) the mouse pointer freezes up on the screen, we then hear two sort of beep sounds before pointer function returns.

The current properties claim the mouse is Samsung, but the mouse itself says "BELKIN" on it. We haven't had much luck getting a new driver from Belkin's web site to install properly. It installs software along with it to its own folder, and browsing for a new driver manually says the .inf file(s) there don't contain any info about the mouse.

Anyone know what the problem is, and/or how to fix it?

The pc has Windows XP Home.

OK I forgot if you solved the problem before the server had to back up. So did you fix the problem?

Strange...I tried something else and it did it's freeze thing once yesterday--none since. It seems like the problem is fixed. If it keeps popping up occasionally I may be back to hash it out some more.

Thanks, and congrats on the new server!
