I just put Windows XP Professional onto a Compaq computer. I also installed the wireless internet drivers, and computer recognizes there is a signal from it. I cannot get the computer to connect to the internet though.

Everytime I try to connect, it takes me to the MSN internet explorer page and asks to connect thru that. I do not want this, since I already have a internet access thru Charter.

When I try to change the default setting to Charter, it does not allow me to do so. Just continues to take me to MSN connection setup. I have changed all of the settings to the same as my other 2 computers, and still no luck. If I do try to connect using the MSN connection, says it does not recognize my IP address.

Also, internet connections is set to automatic detect.

This computer was used previously also by another user. They were unable to help me.
